Pearls and Air Jordans: Ambush’s Yoon Ahn Styles the Accessories of the Moment

Kim Jones’s Dior Men’s fall 2021 collection was unveiled Friday morning under unusual circumstances. With Covid-19 cases soaring in France, the country’s government put a moratorium on in-person gatherings. Although Dior was rumored to be hopeful in staging a physical show, digital—as the rest of the fashion industry has conceded—would have to do for now. But watching a fashion show from her laptop screen didn’t stop the Dior Men director of jewelry Yoon Ahn, better known as Yoon Ambush, from going all out. The designer used Dior Makeup exclusively for her beauty look, which consisted of a smoky eye and statement lashes pumped up by Diorshow Mascara. (Yoon also used a compact done in Dior’s Oblique print, personalized with her own first name.) To accentuate her spring 2021 look, Yoon was laced in vintage Dior jewelry, stacking strands of pearls on top of braided leather chokers and pairing them with plenty of hefty cocktail rings. But this was, after all, an at-home viewing—so she opted for comfort, capping the ensemble with a pair of Dior x Air Jordan 1 High sneakers (most recently and notably seen on the feet of Nikolas Ajagu—the husband of Kamala Harris’s neice, Meena—at the presidential inauguration this week).
