Balenciaga’s Back

With the Chelsea flagship store closed since Hurricane Sandy hit, it has been a long two months for Balenciaga fans. Fortunately, just in time for Christmas, the brand has unveiled a “seasonal” shop at 138 Wooster Street in SoHo.

With the Chelsea flagship store closed since Hurricane Sandy hit, it has been a long two months for Balenciaga fans. Fortunately, just in time for Christmas, the brand has unveiled a “seasonal” shop at 138 Wooster Street in SoHo. Stocked with the men’s spring and women’s pre-spring collections, it also contains a few remaining items from fall—including the “Egyptofunk” t-shirts, which have already sold out several times. The temporary shop is the first step for the brand in establishing a presence in the neighborhood; come later next year, it will open a 4769 sq. ft. flagship in the old Woo Lae Oak space at 148 Mercer Street.
