Now, beribboned accessories flaunt the motif’s full stylistic range. At Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs toes (and heels) the line with a sweet and girly black platform pump adorned with two bows—one gray, one royal blue. Things are more artsy and abstract at Chloé, where a leather bag is graced with a satin strip folded into an origami-style embellishment. Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz also favors the conceptual approach, in this case with a dose of glitz. He reimagines his own signature bow tie in a decidedly feminine form—as a crystal trompe l’oeil choker.
