Dakota Fanning Brings Back Tumblr Pink, Just in Time for the Holidays
When your party is co-hosted by U.S. Woolmark Prize-winning designer Gabriela Hearst, you know there’s bound to be some chic knitwear. For the annual holiday party of New York-Los Angeles boutique The Line, Hearst, The Line’s executive creative director Vanessa Traina, and actor Dakota Fanning all gathered at the brand’s New York outpost for festive drinks and eats. They were joined by designers Joseph Altuzarra, Jennifer Fisher, and Pamela Love, many of them in Hearst’s sleek knitwear and minimalist slip dresses and trousers.
For her most recent press tour, American Pastoral actress Fanning brought out an array of designers including Gucci, Miu Miu, and Dolce & Gabbana, before she jetted off to Paris for the Valentino Spring 2017 show. She’s gotten progressively more adventurous with her choices, but for The Line party, she opted for a minimalist matching set from Hearst. Because what says Christmas like blush pink?

Why: Dakota Fanning did not get the memo that pink is done and yellow is our new favorite color. (Sorry, Pantone, greenery isn’t there yet.) So she goes all-in on the favorite color of Glossier, Acne Studios, and Drake for The Line’s annual holiday party. It’s an elegant holiday look, if in an unanticipated color. But then, anything can be festive when you’ve got a Christmas tree for company.
