Derek Lam Fall 2015’s Desert Divas

Taking their cues from Derek Lam‘s desert-inspired palette, makeup artist Tom Pecheux for MAC applied a gray-brown shadow to the model’s eyes, while hair stylist Orlando Pita created low, bell-shaped ponytails using Phytovolume Actif. In keeping with the collection’s ’70s vibe, Pita’s team also hand-made barrettes out of Lam’s scrap leather and wooden take-out chopsticks, which they sharpened on either end and spray-painted black. “When I went to high school, this type of thing is what all the girls wore in their hair,” said Pita.
