Hot in Ibiza

DJ Hot Since 82 reveals his favorite places on Spain’s party island.

DJ Daley Padley

British electronic DJ and producer Daley Padley, best known as Hot Since 82, is used to playing in front of thousands of people at festivals and venues around the world. With an impressive list of musical accolades (he was listed by Billboard as an “Act to Watch,” and his remix of “Bigger Than Prince” remains Beatport’s 10th biggest seller of all time), it’s no surprise the DJ spends his August in Ibiza, spinning for crowds of jetsetters, fashionistas, and assorted party people. Here, the DJ gives us the lowdown on Spain’s party paradise.

Favorite mix:

Favorite club: DC10 My favorite club on the island, even in the beginning, when it had no roof and the parties had no rules. You can count on hearing the best music in a crazy atmosphere.

Favorite party: Cocoon party at Amnesia. I’ve been coming to DJ Sven Vath’s Cocoon parties at Amnesia for as long as I can remember. The atmosphere is always incredible, especially in the early hours as the sun’s coming up and everyone’s getting weird.

Favorite place to stay: Es Vive Hotel. The hotel staff are very friendly, and there’s even a nightclub in the basement! But, if I’m coming with mates then we always rent a villa for the week. It’s great for a bit of privacy during the day when you have a hangover. It also means you can host a cheeky afterparty without upsetting the hotel staff.

Favorite places to eat: KM5 The setting and the food tick all the boxes.

Casa Thai Easy and healthy. I’ve been coming to this San Antonio joint since I started going to Ibiza.

Favorite place to watch the sunrise: Playa Den Bossa I usually leave Club Space and head to Playa Den Bossa beach with a can of beer – it’s perfect!

The best place for a celebrity sighting: The dance floor at DC10. I know P. Diddy makes a couple of trips each summer and I’m sure if you were on the look out you’d see a load more!

The best beach: Aguas Blanca, located on the north of the island. Clear waters, with friendly people and a couple of top restaurants you really can’t go wrong. It’s also a lot more relaxing than some of the livelier beaches

The best place to detox: I head to Passion Cafe for a Detox Smoothie, then spend a few hours in the sun drinking lots of water. After this I’m all ready to go again!

The best advice for a good time: Be spontaneous! Say yes to the most random things, and you’ll end up having the time of your life!
