MAR 4: Rodarte

A sculptural installation of the designing duo's creations at Los Angeles's MOCA Pacific Design Center.

They’ve all but cornered the ingenue market. Now Rodarte designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy are tackling the art world as well. Enlisting the help of high-concept fashion-show producer Alexandre de Betak—known for his runway work with John Galliano and Viktor & Rolf—the duo will mount rodarte: states of matter, a sculptural installation of their designs at Los Angeles’s MOCA Pacific Design Center (March 4 to June 5). The exhibition features items from recent Rodarte collections (and their whimsical Black Swan costumes) fashioned into various clusters and vignettes—some static, some in motion.
