Altuzarra Joins Amazon’s New Invite-Only Luxury Stores Platform

Joining the ranks of Oscar De La Renta and Roland Mouret, Altuzarra is the latest designer to team up with Amazon on their new mobile-focused shopping experience, Luxury Stores at Amazon. Available through the Amazon mobile app to select shoppers — you can request an invite here — Luxury Stores makes it possible to shop designer collections straight off the runway from the palm of your hand.

This isn’t the first time Joseph Altuzarra, the founder and creative director of his namesake label, has partnered with Amazon. Altuzarra was a judge on Amazon’s reality series Making The Cut, and as he told WWD, “This felt like a natural extension of my relationship with Amazon, and a way to continue telling the Altuzarra story with a great new partner.”

Altuzarra is currently offering both ready-to-wear and accessories on Luxury Stores, with exclusives on the way, WWD reports. As with the other designers who have teamed up with Amazon on this venture, Altuzarra will retain control of things like pricing, merchandising, and inventory (and of course, design). While Amazon benefits from expanding its status as a luxury fashion retailer, designers receive access to Amazon’s 100+ million Prime customer base and shipping services — a fair tradeoff, to be sure.

Customers, of course, benefit too: When shopping designer collections from Luxury Stores, members still receive all the usual Prime perks, like free, two-day shipping and no-fuss returns. Other highlights include 360-degree visualization on various body types, and in some cases (like with Oscar De La Renta), early access to collections that are normally only available directly from the label.

In addition to Roland Mouret and Oscar De La Renta, brands like La Perla and Clé de Peau have started selling on the platform, with more luxury fashion labels and beauty brands to be announced soon.
