An Intimate Behind the Scenes Look as Marc Jacobs’s Models Got Ready for Spring 2018
On Wednesday, Marc Jacobs said of his Spring 2018 show: “While friends vacationed, we took a holiday in our heads and went somewhere—twisting fantasy into reality,” the resulting collection a “reimagining of seasons past somewhere beyond the urban landscape of New York City.” For spectators, it was hard not to get carried away with Jacobs’ imagination, which seemed to pull from disparate references—from Nancy Cunard to apocalyptic sci-fi to Kate Moss at the Met Gala in 2012—for a transcendent show that ended the New York collections on a high note. Our photographer Serichai Traipoom went backstage to capture as the models, including Slick Woods, Dara Allen and Casil McArthur, got “turned out,” to reference stylist Katie Grand’s stated goal for the production. To top things off—no pun intended—master milliner Stephen Jones and hairstylist Guido Palau worked to encase the cast in fabulous turbans draped in the house’s bold printed scarves.
