Hong Kong: Art Basel’s Thriving New Home
Art Basel is so named for the Swiss town in which it originated; it was just three years ago, in 2013, that the art fair sprouted a Hong Kong offshoot with a particular focus on far-eastern art. And Hong Kong, like the fair it hosts, bridges the divide between east and west — an important economic hub in the region, it also possesses a vibrant food scene, thriving architecture, and, naturally, its own cadre of It girls documenting the whole thing on social media. .
