With a name like BOMB, you can’t throw a weak punch in the party arena. Fortunately, the contemporary art and literature magazine lived up to its name when it celebrated its 31st anniversary at a gala held at Capitale Monday night. There Marina Abramovic, James Franco, Agnes Gund, Francine Prose, Michael Stipe and Cindy Sherman perused a silent auction before sitting down to dinner in the fuchsia-lit space. Klaus Biesenbach, Marsha Norman and Richard Serra were the evening’s honorees and were each toasted by Patti Smith, Theresa Rebeck and Hal Foster, respectively, before taking home a Pink BOMB statue, designed by Tom Otterness.
