Following the 2016 CFDA Awards Monday evening, nominees, winners, and their muses all headed downtown to Samsung 837 for the after party, which started an hour late due to the extra-long ceremony. While the setting was a bit, er, corporate, it was actually quite fitting, since everyone was on their phones posting Instagrams of Beyoncé, who — surprise surprise — received the Fashion Icon award. Model Jourdan Dunn specifically, who gave the star a big hug outside of the Hammerstein Ballroom following the event, was glued to her screen, presumably trying to think of the perfect photo caption. Designer Brandon Maxwell, who won the Swarovski Award for Womenswear and gave an emotional speech, was congratulated by sympathetic fans who put their hands on his shoulders — though he seemed perfectly fine after the fact. Other party guests included Jessica Chastain, America Ferrera, and Thom Browne‘s suited-up model squad, who appeared to be having the most fun. Norma Kamali, however, was nowhere to be found. She threw her own after party at Marquee.
