With fashion month and a much-needed spring break behind them, designers returned to warm New York weather and good news: a CFDA Fashion Award nomination. (Plus, a nod from Anna Wintour.) On Wednesday evening, CFDA Board Chairman Diane von Furstenberg, who said with a hair flip that she almost didn’t make it out of the selection meeting alive, announced the list of 2016 nominees and honorees at The New Museum. Amongst them were familiar names like Marc Jacobs and Thom Browne, as well as relative newcomers like Todd Snyder. Joseph Altuzarra, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler, and Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen of The Row, each took home two nominations for Womenswear Designer of the Year as well as Accessories Designer of the Year.
