Eckhaus Latta Fall 2020, Where the Models Were Just as Eccentric as the Clothing
Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta held their fall 2020 New York Fashion Week show in an empty retail space, which, once upon a time, was an Abercrombie & Fitch store. The dark-wood interior, with lush green carpeting and dimmed spotlights, certainly evoked the vibe of early-aughts mallcore, but as a backdrop for the looks Eckhaus Latta sent out, everything was transformed. Models like Paloma Elsesser descended a giant staircase wearing the soft sweaters, one of a kind jeans, and tailored jackets synonymous with the sustainable label. As usual, they were speckled with tiny tattoos, and ranged in age, ethnic background, and size—and the clothes from the collection reflected their idiosyncratic appearances.
