Although 2014 saw the opening of a new generation of camera-ready museums—the Perez, the Aspen Art Museum, and the renovated Cooper Hewitt—the most geotagged institutions of the year on Instagram were of an older school, i.e. the ageless Musée du Louvre and New York’s iconic Museum of Modern Art.
