Massimiliano Giornetti’s Swan Song at Salvatore Ferragamo

by W Magazine

Salvatore Ferragamo - Milan Fashion Week Womenswear Spring/Summer 2012

Yet another shake-up in halls of high fashion: Massimiliano Giornetti, creative director of Salvatore Ferragamo since 2010, has stepped down from his position, leaving Ferragamo without a head creative. Giornetti spent a decade working in menswear for the fashion house, then designing Ferragamo’s womenswear collection for the Fall 2010 season before his promotion to overall creative director months later. His first year, he would introduce resort to the house as well and was met with mostly positive reviews from critics, who applauded his ability to return to the brand’s roots while still remaining relevant. Here, see how he turned the brand around, and then made it his own through the years.
