Naomi Campbell, Kendall Jenner Lead the Supermodel Pack at La Perla
Backstage at La Perla’s first fashion show, it was nearly impossible to keep up with the sheer volume of top models, past and present, dashing about. There was Naomi Campbell, Liu Wen, Isabeli Fontana, Jourdan Dunn, Joan Smalls, Dilone, Stella Maxwell, Sasha Pivovarova, Lais Ribeiro, Lindsey Wixson, and Kendall Jenner, the current face of the brand. With so many models prancing around in their underwear, it was hard not to liken the proceedings to the lingerie extravaganza that is the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. There were even La Perla branded silk robes. But while Victoria’s Secret had taken their pink-hued event to Paris as a whimsical change of scenery, La Perla’s decision to show in New York was no fluke, but rather part of creative director Julia Haart’s mission to more closely align the brand with more serious ready-to-wear.
