It’s no secret that Asia offers a seemingly insatiable market for luxury fashion. Stella McCartney certainly took that message to heart this week when she embarked on a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it trip to the continent. She kicked things off Monday in Tokyo, where she toasted the opening of her latest boutique there and threw a party at the city’s British Embassy. Then it was off to Beijing to celebrate a new flagship and Shanghai the next day, where she hosted a black tie dinner at the Astor House hotel. The entertainment was choreographed by Blanca Li of Daft Punk fame and included dancers in McCartney’s designs and contortionists who spelled out “Stella” with their pliable limbs. The next day, the British designer touched down in Hong Kong for a fall presentation with Lane Crawford whose surprise guest was Kate Moss.
