With his long hair and athletic frame, designer Thaddeus O’Neil could have been one of the models at his Spring 2017 show during this season of New York Fashion Week: Men’s. And that’s precisely the point: the former model and photographer always considers his own jet set lifestyle when designing. “I wear my own brand 90% of the time,” he said, on a recent trip with the CFDA Fashion Incubator to Mexico. For Spring 2017, that means soft, sporty staples like hoodies and sweat pants, jewelry by fellow CFDA Fashion Incubator members K/LLER Collection, and, most surprisingly, Ugg boots. O’Neil’s taking athleisure to the next level. Go backstage with photographer Emily Malan here.
