Surprisingly, the Most Fashionable Front Row in the World Is at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show
Fashion designers don’t typically attend runway shows as front row guests, as they are more frequently behind the scenes. The exception to the rule, however, seems to be the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. This year, the front row at the Grand Palais in Paris was absolutely stuffed with the creme de la creme of the French fashion scene. Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci, Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing, Chloe’s Clare Waight Keller, and Azzedine Alaia were seated with former models Veronica Webb and Yolanda Hadid and magazine editors Carine Roitfeld and Emmanuelle Alt. Also in the venue were Sonia Rykiel’s Julie de Libran, Giambattista Valli, Nicola Formichetti, Haider Ackermann, former Cavalli designer Peter Dundas, and David Koma. Will the glittery lingerie be a prominent inspiration at Paris Fashion Week? We’ll have to wait until February to find out.
