3.1 Phillip Lim Fall 2015’s Punk Beauties

Makeup artist Francelle Daly used the color of her favorite Dr. Martens boots as inspiration for the statement-making, oxblood red lip at the 3.1 Phillip Lim Fall 2015 show. To bring the idea to life, she coated models’ lips with NARS’s Fall 2015 VIP Red Lipstick and kept the rest of their faces clean and glowing. The punky vibe extended to the nails, where manicurist Elissa Ferri applied two coats of a dark olive hue called Galaxy from Sephora Formula X. “It’s more three dimensional than black and it has so much personality,” she says. Hair stylist Paul Hanlon crafted messy, textured waves by braiding the hair in sections, flat ironing the braids, then undoing them and adding shine with Bumble and bumble Brilliantine. “It’s kind of a throwaway look—you don’t really look at the hair, the girl just looks cool,” he says.
