Alexander Wang Spring 2015: Backstage Beauty
Guido Palau and Diane Kendal created the ultimate sporty chic beauty look for Alexander Wang Spring 2015. See how they did it here.
Hairstylist Guido Palau, makeup artist Diane Kendal, and nail artist Michelle Saunders came together to create the ultimate beauty look for Alexander Wang’s Spring 2015 sneakerheads. Inspired by the footwear-obsessed crowds that line up in front of Nike for the latest shoe, Wang’s looks called for clean athletic hair—hair slicked back so sleekly with Redken gel, it looked like rubber—and dewy, minimal makeup. After bleaching the models eyebrows and then dying them back to a barely-there tint, Kendal added glistening gold Nars Eye Paint in Iskandar ($25, sephora.com) and the Multiple in South Beach ($39, narscosmetics.com) to lids, and touched up skin with a pearly highlighter. Nails got the nude treatment with multiple layers of Essie’s Au Natural($8.50, essie.com) and clear top coat. The result was ultra-shiny all-around. “Today is the perfect day for this look,” said Kendal from the steamy backstage, while a late summer thunderstorm began outside.
