This season is all about volume, whether it comes in the form of puffed-up ruffles or the generous cut of a boxy blazer. The exaggerated femininity of Louis Vuitton’s virginal white dress feels just as fresh as men’s wear–inspired camel suiting from Hermès. Both approaches telegraph the desire to take up space and the confidence to do so without apology. Combined, as in the case of Givenchy’s bowlike top and houndstooth trousers and Prada’s prim A-line skirt and schoolboy blazer, the effect is even more powerful. Pair with a hefty set of platform shoes to really make some noise.
