Since announcing she is expecting twins on February 1, Beyoncé has kept her public appearances to a minimum. But she isn’t depriving fans completely–this weekend, the singer celebrated her stepfather Richard Lawson’s birthday at a dinner in Los Angeles, alongside mom Tina Lawson and about a dozen other friends. For the occasion, Beyoncé wore a ’90s-inspired, long-sleeved black velvet minidress with a shoulder cutout. She paired the frock with a knee-length black leather jacket, black thigh-high boots, silver earrings, and a black purse that featured beading, chains, and a silver horseshoe. The singer wore her hair in a simple low bun with loose, curly tendrils framing her face, and in place of her engagement ring was a bright green emerald. Despite reports that the choker trend has died, Beyonce was committed to the ’90s look, and wore a black choker necklace, which featured a golden bee perched on diamond-encrusted honeycomb as a nod to her ever-loyal Beyhive.

This is not the first time Beyoncé has shown off her maternity style on her website. She recently shared photos from Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein’s pre-Oscars bash, as well as from the Los Angeles premiere of Beauty and the Beast, for which she, Jay Z, and Blue Ivy all rocked matching green Gucci ensembles. And on Sunday, Beyoncé took to her website to share photos of the upcoming spring/summer line for Ivy Park, her fashion brand.
