At the Cannes Film Festival nearly a year ago, actress Chloë Sevigny made her directorial debut with the short film Kitty. That didn't mean she was done in front of the camera; this year alone, according to her IMDb page, Sevigny has eight movies in the works—leaving us to wonder when, if at all, she sleeps. Amid it all, she's also a regular at pretty much every festival, from Toronto to Cannes to New York's own Tribeca Film Festival, which got underway last week. Her latest film, The Dinner with Richard Gere, premiered at Tribeca on Monday, and Sevigny was there to take it all in. And at 42, having been something of an It girl and fashion darling since the '90s, her wardrobe choices feel as fresh as ever.

Who: Chloë Sevigny.

When: Monday, April 24.

Where: The premiere of The Dinner with Richard Gere, Laura Linney, Steve Coogan, and Rebecca Hall at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, New York.

What: A lime green dress by Alessandra Rich with a high collar, shoulder embellishments, a wide belt with a rhinestone heart belt, and long sleeves from the Fall 2017 collection with black peep-toe shoes.

Why: In Alessandra Rich's Fall 2017 lookbook, this look showed with white, wide-framed sunglasses and lavender patent gloves with a black bonnet with white polka dots, a kind of '50s housewife-by-way-of-Gucci aesthetic that we could actually imagine Sevigny importing wholesale onto the red carpet. But we can always count on Sevigny to add her own twist; here, it's the addition of a small bag and a high-contrast makeup look with red lips and dark-rimmed eyes. Not that this electric green look needs all that much embellishment—rather, we can hardly imagine anyone but Chloë Sevigny pulling it off in any situation.
