Who: Yolanda Santos, a museum trustee; Lisa Garcia Quiroz, a senior vice president at Time Warner Inc., and Eugenio Lopez Alfonso, the founder president of the Jumex Contemporary Arts Foundation were honored in front of a crowd including the jeweler Barbara Berger, fashion designer Maria Cornejo and Ambassador Sandra Fuentes of the Consul General of Mexico.
Why: What other gala in the spring season would designate an official milliner (Patricia Underwood) and ask its female guests to wear black and white with gloves and veils, as an ode to the museum’s current exhibition of the work of the Mexican cinematographer Gabriel Figueroa?
