Some floral notes slip easily into Old Lady Land. Take rose, for instance; dab some on and there’s a big risk you’ll end up smelling like grandma’s neck. (There are exceptions of course, which W’s Jamie Rosen blogged about here.) Jasmine, on the other hand, comes off as perpetually fresh and vibrant when mixed with other ingredients in a perfume, body cream or bath product. Here are some of my favorites:

Jurlique Jasmine Shower Gel—One whiff of this thick gel transports you to a sun-soaked outdoor shower.

Korres Jasmine Shower Gel—A more liquid formula than Jurlique’s, and a slightly subtler fragrance. Which is right for you? Ask yourself: do you prefer perfume or eau de toilette? Cream or lotion?

Nude Moisturizing Body Polish—Unlike goopy scrubs, this one is almost pomade-like and requires a few fingernails to scoop out of its jar. That’s thanks to a high concentration of natural butters, oils and sugars that make skin feel like it’s been moisture-sealed, but in a good way.

Bulgari Jasmin Noir Body Cream—An elegant and more mysterious version of the flower, thanks to the dark and woodsy notes it’s mixed with. And the super rich formula is positively buttery.
