Kristen Stewart and Chvrches’ Collaboration for Planned Parenthood Has a Teaser
Kristen Stewart‘s directorial collaboration with Chvrches is almost here. And finally, there’s a teaser of the much-anticipated project, which Stewart and Chvrches are working on to benefit Planned Parenthood. In it, the group plays a new version of “Down Side of Me,” a track off its Every Open Eye album.
So what happens when Stewart steps behind the camera? Well, the snippet opens on a shot of band member Lauren Mayberry‘s closed eyes, and then shows different snapshots of Chvrches hanging out in the studio and recording. The teaser then closes on another shot of Mayberry’s open eyes, The entire video is shot in black and white, scored to “Down Side of Me.”
Stewart previously said of the project, “I ended up with a pretty simple but definitive narrative arc that highlights the cause in a sweet but quiet and confronting way.” What exactly that means will come to pass soon enough. As revealed at the snippet’s end, the full version of the video will debut in just over a week, on April 28. Watch the early look below.
Stewart and Chvrches’ collaboration comes as part of 7-Inches for Planned Parenthood, a new box set of curated 7″ vinyl records being released to benefit the organization, Billboard reports. In addition to Chvrches, other artists contributing include Mary J. Blige, Bjork, Foo Fighters, John Legend, Common, Bon Iver, Sleater-Kinney, St. Vincent, Feist, Laurie Anderson, Estelle, Elliott Smith, and members of the National. Comedians who are involved include Sarah Silverman, Janeane Garofalo, Tig Notaro, Aparna Nancherla, and Margaret Cho, as well as writers and activists such as Margaret Atwood and Dr. Willie Parker.
