Lia Pavlova

If anyone deserved to be exhausted after fashion month, it’s Lia Pavlova, the 21-year-old Russian model who walked an astonishing 71 shows this past season. Somehow, though, after two months of international flights and early call times, Pavlova still had plenty of energy on a recent morning in New York to insist upon one thing: “I’m not tired,” she said, with the genuine stoicism Russian stereotypes may have led you to expect.

Endurance may run in the family – her sister Odette, also a model, walked an equally striking 62 shows this season – but it's clear Pavlova is used to hitting the ground running. Once discovered in St. Petersburg, Pavlova got a quick feel for the industry in Asia and then hit the runways with a bang: She opened Gucci Fall 2015, making her catwalk debut at the same as Alessandro Michele. From there, she's starred in a few Gucci campaigns and walked for just about every designer you can think of: Dior, Chanel, Valentino, Givenchy, Margiela, Céline, Balenciaga, and Saint Laurent, to name a few. (She snagged yet another opening slot at Hedi Slimane's last show for the house this past season.) Feeling tired yet? Here, Pavlova shares her tips on how she gets it all done.
