The last thing London needs is another private club—the city is already teeming with them, from the trendy Groucho Club to the venerable Boodle’s and White’s. But that’s not going to stop Farhad Farman-Farmaian, a creative consultant who worked on the relaunch of the beloved Brit nightclub Annabel’s. Later this summer, in a five-story town house on Beauchamp Place, he will unveil the exclusive Beauchamp Club, which he hopes will be “an interface of the art, cultural, design and literary worlds—a salon.” Farman-Farmaian handpicked the roster of 50 founding members, including former Annabel’s co-owner India Jane Birley, architect Zaha Hadid, art-world macher Samuel Keller and heiress Ginevra Elkann (sister of Lapo), who in turn nominated 300 more members. But interested parties, beware: Membership is already closed until 2010.
