Highlights from the March issue of W magazine are below:

MEGAN FOX, ACTRESS- PAGE 262:

With her Emporio Armani ad campaign launching in March, and a serious upcoming role that could breathe new life into her acting career, 23-year-old Megan Fox is ready to show the world that she’s a bombshell with chops. She speaks to W magazine about overcoming her insecurities and her typecast in Hollywood.

On her challenges when it comes to acting:“My main weakness is nerves. I have no confidence, and because of that I’m always second-guessing myself.”

On posing as the new face of Emporio Armani underwear and jeans:“There are some women you could put in underwear and photograph them, and it looks really classy and it doesn’t necessarily provoke a pinup image. But with me it does, immediately, as soon as I’m in underwear. I’m a Vargas girl.”

<strongOn people in the entertainment industry: “I don’t trust people in this industry, but I especially don’t trust girls in this industry, because it’s incredibly competitive, and I’m just not interested.”

<strongOn the fashion element of her job: “I feel intimidated by fashion. I hate doing photo shoots.”

<strongOn wanting children of her own:“No one believes me when I talk about this, but I’m really maternal. I worry that because I’ve always wanted [kids] so much, as the world goes sometimes, I won’t be able to have them, even though I would be able to provide them with such an amazing environment.”

JASON WU, FASHION DESIGNER- page 156

27-year-old Taiwanese-born designer, Jason Wu, tells W writer Vanessa Lau how an English tutor and door-to-door Jehovah’s Witness are responsible for setting his career in motion. “We would do an hour of Bible study and then an hour of fashion drawing. She even got me a set of watercolors,” he says. “The story of how I learned the English language is how I discovered fashion, really.”

CHINA MACHADO, MODEL & AVEDON MUSE- page 204:

Fashion photographer Bruce Weber captures the legendary China Machado- the world’s first non-Caucasian face to grace a major American magazine- at her home in Sag Harbour. On her relationship with Richard Avedon, Machado tells W Executive Editor Bridget Foley, “He was so close to me, one of the most influential men in my life without being a lover, I never went to bed with Dick. [But] I was with him every day for about eight years…”

SPRING TREND REPORT: SULTRY LINGERIE- page 234 :

With a touch of the thirties and forties, 21 models on the rise pose wearing spring’s hottest new trend: delicate, seductive lingerie. Plus, Baccarat and Eli Top collaborate on fantastical gems (page 171) and Christophe de Menil makes her return to jewelry design (page 176).

KARL LAGERFELD’S MAN FROM MARSEILLE- page 136:

Karl Lagerfeld’s protégé, Baptiste Giabiconi, went from metalworker to top male model practically overnight. “There is no other model in the business like him,” says the legendary designer of Giabiconi. He’s a male version of Gisele Bundchen: “Perfect when dressed and stunning undressed.”
