A Secret Paradise

What is your favorite beach? I love a lot of beaches for different reasons, but my favorite is in front of the Florblanca resort in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. My girls can play in tidal pools, while I relax with a mojito from the bar, sunbathe or take turns with my hubby surfing just over the rock. We have great memories there, too. It’s very secluded and raw.

How does it inspire your designs? The feeling of this peaceful place is very relaxing, and I imagine my new collection perfectly in this setting. What are your favorite pieces to wear to the beach? A Marysia swimsuit and cover up, Lola sunhat and Celine sunglasses are all I need. I also like Kiehl’s sunscreen that comes in a spray. It’s waterproof, moisturizing, and good for the whole family.

What’s your secret tip for this destination? Florblanca’s amazing manager can set you up with a helicopter to bring you there straight from the San Jose airport!
