Atelier Courbet

Melanie Courbet has several covetable silk rugs at her little shop of treasures in New York, including signed beauties by Frank Gehry (sold out, sadly), but this one in particular—by the midcentury designer Vladimir Kagan—has the sheer, shimmery texture of a watercolor painting. It’s carpeting’s answer to a waterbed.
