Designer Pamela Tuohy has created her first jewelry line with a nod to the green movement: She crafts both fine and costume jewelry out of recycled metals and images of falcons, owls and ravens. Vintage sterling silver frames encase the delicate avian portraits, which are mounted on 18-karat gold cuffs and brooches, evoking a mood of gothic Americana. “The quality of the metalsmiths’ work that came before us is so impeccable,” Tuohy says of her reused materials. “I like to work to those standards.”
