In the jewelry world over the past two seasons it’s been all about strong, simple pieces in both silver and gold—with more than a few riffs on 70’s style in the form of chic cuffs, chokers and pendants. For Pre-fall 2011 the trend continues. Balenciaga brought back a classic Crisotbal Balenciaga anchor motif necklace from the Summer 1967 collection with a revamped bold, structured chain. The anchor is one of the main themes of the collection and is carried through the ready to wear and accessories.
Paired with the quirky dog sweater (one of my personal favorites), a pencil skirt and sophisticated pumps, it makes a cool and wearable option for early fall dressing.
At the always covetable Céline, designer Phoebe Philo built on her gold coin necklaces from last fall with long silver and gold circle pendants and paired them with an adorable plaid-on-plaid look that, while it might tricky to pull off, worked perfectly here.
