Pringle of Scotland puts a new spin on old classics.

Last year, after almost two centuries in business, Pringle of Scotland decided it was time to assemble a comprehensive company archive. To accomplish the herculean task, the brand enlisted the help of students at London’s Central Saint Martins, asking them to find and catalog as many of its woolly creations as possible. After scouring vintage shops and interviewing former employees, the group hosted a Day of Record last August, during which hundreds of fans gathered in Hawick, Scotland, with assorted Pringle garments and memorabilia in hand. The results—450 items and counting—have been rich fodder for the Central Saint Martins students. Look for their 12-piece knitwear collection, including the Seventies-inspired color-blocked twinset pictured here, in stores this month.
