Rihanna’s Version of Business Casual Involves a White Button-Down, No Pants

Who: Rihanna.

Where: A dinner with Drake, at Nobu in New York City.

What: A white button-down shirt dress, tasseled Aquazzura heels, and not a hint of pants in sight.

Why: Rihanna has had a busy summer: she emerged from the hell fires of post-apocalypse on W‘s September cover looking like a queen – with Pat McGrath glitter lips, no less; performed four times at the MTV VMAs on Sunday night before receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award; and danced the night away at her own after party. After all that, Rihanna deserved a quiet, lowkey dinner with her long-time friend Drake. For the occasion, she tied her hair up in a simple knot and opted for a pared-down white shirt, semi-wrinkled and with rolled-up sleeves; tasseled, suede Aquazzura heels; and, briefly, her favorite accessory: a wine glass, this time full of rosé. Hanging back in a decked out varsity jacket, Drake seems to have learned who’s boss – but at least he wasn’t late this time.
