A goddess comes in many variations, as do the draped clothes that adorn her. Just that was exemplified on the Paris runways as a handful of designers demonstrated the graceful technique for several wide-ranging looks. At Balenciaga, Nicolas Ghesquiere took draping to an exaggerated, oversize effect, as shown on this satiny number. Riccardo Tisci, meanwhile, went ethereal at Givenchy with elegant snow-white folds, and Christian Lacroix chiced-up the method by topping his graceful draped dress with a fluffy fur collar. Comme des Garçons‘ Rei Kawakubo gave his looks a more structured hand à la big camp-style blankets folded just so.
