Thomas Salomon

A luxe Yves Salomon parka isn’t all one needs for a trip to Aspen—creative director Thomas Salomon shares his tips for visiting the city here.

Tell us about your neighborhood:

I have a great apartment that is super centrally located, close to the Little Nell. I can walk everywhere (when it is not too cold). And around the holidays friends from all over always want to come visit.

Where to dine:

Casa Tua

I love this restaurant. Every time I am in Aspen, I make sure to eat here at least once. The food is really good – I always get the beef tenderloin with fois gras. It’s the best!

Where to drink:

Cloud Nine

This is also a great place for an apres-ski cocktail. On Aspen Highlands mountain, the atmosphere is great in the winter – warm and fun. And of course the views are beautiful.

Where to go out:

Caribou

Everyone’s favorite nightlife spot. It’s fun and great place to go when you want a night out.

Where to shop:

Yves Salomon

We just opened our first store in NY, on Madison, but our store in Aspen was our first boutique in the U.S. It opened in 2011. Aspen is a very strong market for us, and not just in the winter. This sable and cashmere coat has done really well this season.

Best place for inspiration:

Aspen Art Museum

I have not been to the newly designed museum yet but am planning to go over the holiday. Lots of people have been talking about it and from what I understand it is quite impressive

Explore Booksellers A truly charming bookstore. It has a great selection of both old and new books. There is a quaint little bistro attached to it too.
