Spotted in the VFiles crowd Wednesday evening before the start of the brand's Fall 2016 designer showcase was Sanam, a.k.a. @trustmedaddy, who Rihanna cast via Instagram last April for her "Bitch Better Have My Money" music video. You would think Sanam would stand out with her neon green hair and eight-ball earrings, but she was low-key in comparison to those wearing bedazzled bodysuits, face masks, and even ass-less chaps in February.
"It's definitely a carry," she said when asked to describe the scene. Then she explained: "A carry is when everyone gets a little bit too carried away." Ah.
Other "carried" guests included Kylie Jenner - there to support on-again/off-again boyfriend Tyga, who performed his song "Rack City" after the show - as well as skater boy hero Tony Hawk, who made his New York Fashion Week debut.
Kim Shui was first up, showing a collection of brightly colored outerwear, followed by Anton Belinskiy, whose models walked the runway in New Balance sneakers and capes that said "Utopia" on them. All the while, a song with the lyrics, "F— this shit," played on repeat.
Next up was Berlin-based designers Ottolinger and NeuroCouture, a "wearable tech" brand that projected Donald Trump memes on white ponchos. Hardeman closed out the show with a leggy male model in jorts and a bucket hat carrying two puppies. Cute.
Tony Hawk left the show smiling. "It was really fun!" he said as though it was the '90's again and he had just won another X Games championship. His favorite show? "The first one." Though he couldn't pick out a look, he was into the "Sgt. Pepper vibes."
