Last year, Chase Infiniti was the breakout star of One Battle After Another. Now, the 26-year-old is up for an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role in The Testaments. Her younger sister, Dolcé Imani, 24, was just signed to IMG Models. For the debut issue of WYouth, on newsstands September 15, the on-the-rise siblings chatted with W Editor at Large Lynn Hirschberg about work, fashion, and crushes.
When you were children, did you dress alike?
Chase Infiniti: Yes, my parents would put us in the same clothes in different colors. My outfit would always be green, and Dolcé’s would always be blue.
Dolcé Imani: That was partially because of our birthstones. I was born in September, and my birthstone is sapphire. Chase was born in May, and hers is emerald. Blue and green. To this day, I am not the biggest fan of green. Recently, I’ve started to like mint green because it has a lot of blue in it.

Chase, in The Testaments, which is a sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale, you play one of the children born to the women of Gilead.
CI: It was the first time I’ve been on a set with a lot of younger actresses. I tried my best to be an older sister to the younger girls in the cast. My character is attending a kind of finishing school, and I had to learn certain “feminine” skills for the part, including lace-making. I got good at faking it.
Dolcé, at Columbia College Chicago, which you both attended at the same time, you majored in fashion design. Do you make your own clothes?
DI: Sometimes. But mostly I upcycle vintage stuff. I am a devoted eBay shopper.
In March, you wore a vintage gown from the ’80s when you were Chase’s date for the Actor Awards.
DI: Yes, it had been on my eBay wish list for a while! I love pink frilly stuff, and that gown was perfect.
Both wear Versace dresses.
Was Dolcé a good awards date?
CI: Yes. It was like we were home, sitting on the couch, having fun watching the show together. Although Dolcé did get starstruck. She freaked out when she saw Kate Hudson and Timothée Chalamet.
DI: Timmy makes everyone starstruck! I was also excited to meet Odessa A’zion. Until that night, she hadn’t seemed like an actual person to me.
Dolcé, when you were growing up, did you borrow Chase’s clothes?
DI: No. But we had a big closet in our basement filled with costumes. Chase rarely gave me speaking parts in the plays that we’d put on. She was always the star—she’d be Tinker Bell or Minnie Mouse. Sometimes I would borrow one of those costumes. Usually, I was just a random princess.

Do you sing in the shower?
DI: I sing a lot of Britney Spears. “Cinderella” is my favorite song.
CI: In college, I was a musical theater major. I love musicals, but Dolcé got me into Ariana Grande, and now I’m her biggest fan. I sing all the songs from Eternal Sunshine in the shower.
Chase, what is your first memory of Dolcé?
CI: Going to the hospital when she was born. I was 2 and a half, and at first I was shocked by the change in my life: What do you mean, I have a sister? [Laughs] But I adjusted.
Who is your crush, either now or during your childhood?
DI: Growing up, it was Zayn Malik, when he had that swoop in his hair. I saw that swoop and was just, Oh my God!
CI: These days, my talent crush is Havana Rose Liu. She is so beautiful and a great actress.

Dolcé, what was it like watching your sister in One Battle After Another?
DI: I started crying! I was used to Chase doing musicals, but this was completely different, and I loved it.
Chase, as the older sister, do you give Dolcé any advice?
CI: The only advice I’ve given her is to keep a map of the schools we attended, because she’s always getting lost. But Dolcé gives me advice all the time, especially about clothes.
DI: I’m truthful with Chase: She’ll show me an outfit and I’ll say, “I love that for you, but I wouldn’t wear it.” [Laughs]
CI: I always appreciate her honesty. I know that my sister would never lie to me. That makes me love her even more.
