Between all the chaos and show-stopping looks on the red carpet, it’s easy to miss out on all of the hair, makeup, and beauty moments that helped make up some of this year’s most notable Met Gala looks.

No transformation into Marilyn Monroe is complete without a head of platinum blonde hair. Kim K added a personal touch to the iconic “Happy Birthday” dress by sleeking hers back into a tight bun.

If Twiggy ever took on the gilded theme, we’d imagine she’d look something like Boynton, whose long lashes were intricately adorned with gemstones. The star’s skin, prepped with N°1 de Chanel products by renowned facialist Iván Pol of The Beauty Sandwich, provided the perfect clean canvas.

The model (and daughter of Jude Law) matched her Moschino gown with platinum blonde hair and pale blue eyeshadow.

Turner, who is currently pregnant with her second child, added a vampiric edge to her Old Hollywood glamour with thin brows, red eyeshadow, and blood-red lips.

Taylor, who wore Iris Van Herpen, didn’t come to play this time around. Everything was coordinated, from her futuristic headpiece and rings to her purple eyeshadow and nails.
