We pay attention to each and every one of the season’s latest trends (this is W magazine, after all), but admittedly, we’re especially interested in shoes. The right pair can completely alter the attitude of an outfit: add a slipper to a suit and it instantly relaxes, while pumps up the ante on jeans and a tee. Shoes are also a smart investment—they make an outsize impact on a look and, importantly, they’re objectively more fun to shop for. The shoe trends we saw on the fall 2026 runways were no exception.
This season’s footwear spans the spectrum, from laid-back to dressed-up, with fresh takes on pumps, sneakers, and flats. Heels are decidedly elevated; Prada and Chanel offered office-siren styles in two-tone colorways and lace-up silhouettes, while Saint Laurent and Tory Burch leaned into satin and embellishment. Flats had a presence too, from the jazz-shoe shapes popularized by Celine to hybrid sneaker styles at Miu Miu.
Below, shop six of our favorite shoe trends for fall.
Office Siren
Prada Fall 2026
This season’s pumps and kitten heels might make your average exec blush (in a good way!). Chanel and Valentino showed seductive takes on retro-tinged two-tone shoes, while Prada and Marni offered sexy lace-up styles. T-straps and kitten heels fit in this category, too.
Give ‘Em the Slip
Calvin Klein Fall 2026
Slippers are exiting the bedroom for fall, with a number of designers showing their take on the comfy classic made for the outside world. Calvin Klein, notably, paired the shape with suits and eveningwear. Whether you’re looking for a minimalist style or something ornate, there are a range of slippers to shop for every mood.
Pucker Up
Phoebe Philo Collection E
Ruched and scrunched shapes are a chic twist on classic silhouettes, like pumps and ballerina flats. Phoebe Philo’s aptly named Pucker Pump is sure to be a hit.
A Healthy Mix
Miu Miu Fall 2026
The sneaker of the season is more of a hybrid—part gorpcore, part high style. We’ll be shopping Miu Miu’s sport-sole slip-on, and Chanel’s “sneaker” with a built-in sock.
Party Shoes
Dior Haute Couture Fall 2026
Pumps are ready to party this season, appearing in colorful satins à la Saint Laurent and newcomer, Herbet Levine; or extra-embellished styles courtesy of Tory Burch and Prada.
All That Jazz
Celine Hiver 2026
The jazz shoe, reintroduced at Michael Rider’s Celine debut, continues to reign this season. These minimal leather slippers, often seen in black or white, offer the lightness of a ballet flat, with the boyish attitude of a sneaker.
