The term “couples style” gets thrown around a bit too loosely, but George and Amal Clooney definitely embraced the label for an end of summer date on Lake Como. The couple— who have a home on the northern Italian lake—have been bouncing around from one villa to the next over the past few weeks, and were recently spotted heading out in matching looks.

On August 20, the Clooneys were photographed disembarking a boat at the Villa Passalacqua, a historic 18th-century estate. The pair was surrounded by friends as they made their way across the dock up to the venue. The reason for their appearance is not known, but it seems to have been some formal event. Amal arrived in a simple and chic white slip dress, an armful of bangles, and stilettos. When she got to the dock, she was handed a small bouquet of white flowers, making the 48-year-old look almost like a bride walking down the aisle.

George coordinated with his wife, sticking by her side in a similarly understated but stylish outfit. He wore an off-white short-sleeved top with a pair of pants in the same hue, finishing off his ensemble with suede loafers.

This is actually the second time the Clooneys have visited Villa Passalacqua this month. On the 10th, they held a fundraising dinner for the Clooney Foundation for Justice at the venue. For that event, Amal wore a black John Galliano fall 2004/2005 slip dress featuring flowers and a yellow velvet bow embroidered up the front. She accessorized the dress with a beaded red bag. George, meanwhile, wore another very summer-appropriate outfit, this time a gray suit and the same loafers. It seems George is making the most of his summer wardrobe while he can.
