Practical Magic 2 is almost here—and for Joey King, the witch-inspired method dressing is well underway.

On Wednesday, the 27-year-old actor was spotted doing press for the upcoming sequel in London, wearing a gothic gown fit for a contemporary coven. The plunging design, from Ermanno Scervino’s resort 2027 collection, featured a sheer bodice with an intricately ruffled, tiered skirt that almost floated as she walked. With delicate lace lining the neckline, the garment exuded pure dark romance—which King played up with her structured Alexis Bittar wristlet, Gianvito Rossi leather sandals, and Capsule Eleven crystal pendant necklace.

Her co-star and on-screen sister Maisie Williams was also in attendance, donning a vintage Gucci plum-colored jacket with a Victorian ruff and opulent floral embellishments.

The highly anticipated sequel takes place 25 years after the 1998 original, which starred Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman as witch sisters riddled with a supernatural family curse. In Practical Magic 2, King and Williams will star as Bullock’s on-screen daughters, Kylie and Antonia, respectively. If their recent promotional looks are any indication, they’ll be carrying the torch for whimsigoth world-building.

As the older on-screen sister, King, specifically, has been leaning into the moodier elements of the iconic film. After debuting long, red locks last summer, she’s spent the past year experimenting with daring sheer layers and otherworldly outfit embellishments. Last month, she stepped out in a lace Alessandra Rich gown, with a dramatic bowed neckline and a translucent bodice. A day prior, she wore a flared mesh black skirt with a deep burgundy Mark Gong top. Her latest ensemble adds yet another layer of dark romanticism to the press tour.

Out September 11, Practical Magic 2 will find King and Williams as bourgeoning witches discovering their own magical abilities. Judging by their recent ensembles, we’re in for an aesthetically rich ride.
