Inside Madonna’s Glamorous, Grecian 68th Birthday Extravaganza
Madonna’s birthday trips have become legendary. This year’s was downright mythical. While the past two years have seen her embrace la dolce vita in Italy, her 68th called for going big in Greece.
To celebrate her August 16th birthday, the pop sensation opted for a week on the Greek island of Corfu—surrounded by her children, her boyfriend, and a rotation of fabulous outfits. In a carousel posted to Instagram on Tuesday, the superstar shared snippets from her week spent along the Ionian Sea. The Confessions II singer reportedly flew family and friends out via jet for a sun-soaked sojourn—where they stayed at a luxury private property, spent their days yachting, and had at least one helicopter excursion.
The festivities were, of course, a feast for the eyes. For her main birthday dinner, Madonna wore an ornate multicolored dress, full of floral appliqués and gilded embroidery, from Dolce & Gabbana’s 2026 Alta Moda collection. Accessorizing with a hot-pink headpiece and layers of gold bangles, she stood out from her guests—which included her partner of two years, 30-year-old soccer player Akeem Morris, as well as her children Lourdes, 29, Rocco, 26, Mercy, 20, and 13-year-old twins Stella and Estere. The evening was spent dining outdoors at the traditional Atzardo taverna in Kouramades, a small village on the island. After dinner came musical performances, plate-smashing, and a heart-shaped cake decorated with the evil eye. In true Grecian style, the night was crashed by a stray cat, who made it into Madonna’s recap carousel.
That wasn’t her only standout look of the weekend, however. For another outing, the star opted for an all-white outfit, complete with tiny cutouts, a statement belt and a parasol that added a hint of Victorian elegance. She spent the night surrounded by friends at a long table under strings of twinkle lights. The fête seemingly had an all-white dress code, as she and her guests all embraced languid ivory draping. To close out the evening, they danced to music by Terraròss, an Italian folk band that has performed at Madonna’s private birthdays in the past.
Also on the itinerary was a visit to Meteora’s clifftop monasteries. The star was pictured visiting the UNESCO World Heritage site earlier in the week, accompanied by some of her children. Aside from evenings spent dining out and visits to cultural landmarks, she kept a decidedly low profile throughout her Grecian getaway. Still, celebrations were certainly had—and are bound to continue. On August 18, two days after her birthday, Madonna became the leading nominee for the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, receiving 11 nods—a new personal record. A particularly iconic way to finish off a birthday week.
