As is the wont of many designers this 2017 season, Olivier Rousteing’s Balmain incorporated womenswear into its offerings for the Spring 2017 Men’s presentation in Paris Saturday. Models Doutzen Kroes and Alessandra Ambrosio walked alongside Marlon Teixeira and Francisco Lachowski, filling the runway with the label’s now-familiar bodysuits and embellished denim. (So much light-washed denim.) Many of the looks recalled the custom ensembles that Kanye West and Tyga wore to the Met Gala last month, albeit with perhaps even more splashes of color and glitz. It’s a collection that affirms Rousteing’s voice as creative director, building on the brash aesthetic he’s already cultivated.
