In a season where the chatter revolved around Instagram posts and the must-have invite was to a dinner chez Azzedine Alaïa in honor of the Apple Watch, many designers seemed intent on giving their signature aesthetic some cyber appeal.
Dior’s Techno Courtiers Cross-referencing the decadence of 18th-century court dress with the clinical efficiency of a modern-day science lab (think crisp white piqué pieces trimmed with regal brocades, or, a jersey tank top attached to a floral jacquard balloon skirt), Dior’s Raf Simons painted a rather romantic portrait of what he calls the “near future.”

Carolina Herrera’s Techno Socialites Come benefit season, the social set will be trading its taffeta confections for pixelated digital-print gowns fashioned from “foam” or other “techno fabrics,” as Herrera refers to her brave-new-world textiles.
