On Monday night, both Stella McCartney and Calvin Klein Collection threw January doldrums aside with two star-filled gatherings. In Soho, McCartney toasted the opening of her New York flagship store with a dinner for pals like Liv Tyler, Naomi Watts, Kristen Wiig, Stephanie Seymour, Elettra Wiedemann, and Cindy Sherman. Ice sculptures in the likeness of New York City landmarks formed the backdrop to a vegetarian meal overseen by the omnivorous Mario Batali. (The menu was part of Meat Free Monday, a campaign to encourage non-vegetarians to abstain from animal proteins once a week.) Over at the Darby, Calvin Klein Collection and the Peggy Siegal Company celebrated Darren Criss and his Broadway debut in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Gleeks and other fans like Alan Cumming, Parker Posey, Susan Sarandon, and Lily Rabe took in a performance by Criss, accompanied in part by the band Cole Ramstad and The China Town Allstars.
