Charli XCX has had a busy summer, to say the least. While the rest of the world is enjoying a lazy summer, XCX is traveling all over the United States—and beyond—releasing new music all along the way. This summer, she’s already released a slew of hit singles, including “Girls Night Out,” which dropped last Friday much to delight of devoted fans—or, as they are lovingly called, “Angels”—who have been waiting for its official release since XCX began teasing it during her live shows. (“This song has always brought so much joy and so much fun into any room and I really feel it’s such a special moment to finally have it be released,” she wrote on Instagram when releasing the track.) And then, of course, there’s also her opening slot on Taylor Swift‘s Reputation World Tour, which has her traveling across the country alongside Swift and fellow opener Camilla Cabello. Late last month, the trio descended upon New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium for a three-night stint, where Swift made history as the first female artist to play three consecutive shows at the venue, which boasts a capacity of 80,000. In addition to kicking off each night with a powerhouse performance of her greatest hits, ranging from “Boom Clap” to the newer smash “5 In the Morning,” XCX had quite the jam-packed weekend in New York City in between Reputation show, where she hosted an intimate meet and greet with fans and later performed to a sweaty, late night crowd at the Public Hotel. Here, XCX, who celebrates her 26th birthday today, exclusively captured a whirlwind weekend, with behind-the-scenes polaroids of everything from goofing off backstage with Cabello to performing to a full stadium with a hangover.
